Tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgical procedure that focuses on removing excess fat and skin and restoring the separated or weakened muscles to create an abdominal profile that is smoother, flatter, and firmer. The procedure is also known as abdominoplasty. In some cases, tummy tuck in Orange County can even allow you to have a whole new abdomen. Below is a discussion of what tummy tuck surgery involves.
Choosing your Doctor

Although Orange County plastic surgery can be done by any physician, you have to look for the most qualified doctor for the best result. As such, you should go for a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. It is also wise to rely on a doctor who has several years of experience performing tummy tuck surgeries.

You're Options.

After choosing your Orange County plastic surgery expert, you have to ask about the options that you have and what the surgery will entail. Basically, you have to options: complete abdominoplasty and partial abdominoplasty. Since no two exactly similar issues that necessitate tummy tuck, your doctor will carefully consider your case, and help you to make the right decision.
Complete Abdominoplasty

The doctor will cut the abdomen from hipbone to hipbone and contour the muscles, the skin, and the tissues. Since this procedure also involves moving the belly button, you may have to carry drainage tunes under the skin for a couple of days.
Partial Abdominoplasty

This is most suited for people whose excessive fats are located below the navel. During this operation, the doctor may not have to move the belly button, and therefore, in most cases, the procedure only takes several hours.

What to do after the Surgery

After a successful tummy tuck in Orange County, the next step has to do with focusing on having a healthy recovery and maintaining the good results. In this regard, you have to observe all the instruction given by your doctor. For instance, you must be disciplined in taking the provided medication.

You also have to stick to the good health habits that you may have adopted for the sake of the surgery. For instance, to keep your tummy in great shape, you may have to adopt a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

The Takeaway

Is Tummy Tuck Best For You?

12/31/2018

Pregnancy, aging and dramatic weight loss could make your abdominal muscles less elastic with the passage of time. You may experience this regardless of how much you exercise or how healthy you eat.

To combat these undesirable effects and improve your figure, you can opt for an Orange County tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. The procedure can tighten your stomach muscles while reducing skin and fat around your midsection. This will make your abdomen appear smoother and flatter.

Tummy tuck in Orange County involves the surgical removal of fatty deposits or excess skin from your abdomen. It also repositions your abdomen muscles to achieve a tighter formation. Moreover, the tummy tuck procedure can reverse the adverse effects triggered by aging, weight changes, and pregnancy.

Tummy tuck is best for you in the following cases:

You Have Loose Skin or Tissue around the Abdomen

While a tummy tuck will definitely target stubborn pockets or deposits of fat, in order to qualify for the procedure, you should also have a considerable amount of excess or loose skin around the abdomen.

Your Orange County plastic surgeon would make a sizable incision in order to perform a tummy tuck. This reason is why in case you don’t have enough excess or loose skin, it could cause some tension in the scar. This tension can lead to an unsightly and undesirable “stretched” look.

As both partial and full tummy tucks are now available, if you just have loose skin below the belly button, you might still be a good candidate for the partial tummy tuck procedure.

You Lost a Considerable Amount of Weight or Had a Baby

Keep in mind that both obesity and pregnancy can cause damage to your abdominal muscles; in addition, it could stretch the skin around your belly.

The muscles and skin are permanently damaged; and note that even after you deliver the baby or reach a healthy weight range, these tissues may continue to hang loosely around your stomach, which is unsightly.

A tummy tuck is great as it can quickly repair these tissues. Hence, your body would more accurately and proportionately reflect your healthy weight range.

You Aren’t Planning To Lose More Weight

Ideally, you must be within fifteen to twenty pounds of your healthy weight prior to undergoing a tummy tuck.

Although many patients tend to lose some weight following the procedure, in case you drop more than thirty pounds, it could leave more excess and loose skin as well as sagging muscles around the stomach, which can negate the results of this procedure. That is something you certainly do not want.

Therefore, if you’ve been regularly hitting the gym but still feel like your tummy has hit a wall, a tummy tuck can be the ideal prescription for the best belly! https://cosmeticareca.blogspot.com/2018/12/is-tummy-tuck-best-for-you.html

Top 5 Things You Should Know About Liposuction

Liposuction is easily one of the most popular cosmetic procedures that people resort to for a slimmer and fitter look; that said, there are a number of misconceptions about what the procedure can accomplish, how it works, and who could benefit from it. Many patients go into their initial consultation and are often surprised by the various things they learn regarding the treatment.

Here are 5 critical facts about Orange County liposuction you might not know.

  • Liposuction Isn’t a Weight Loss Procedure

Liposuction, in most cases, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that helps improve the appearance of a specific area on your body. The main goal is to contour or reshape a region on your body by getting rid of fat deposits. As liposuction isn’t a routine weight loss procedure, you shouldn’t expect to drop weight afterwards. Actually, maintaining a healthy weight is vital for long-lasting results. This is one of the most common myths regarding the procedure, which needs to be debunked.

  • Results Are Permanent

Keep in mind that the results of this procedure are permanent as adults cannot generate new fat cells, which leaves your body slim, trim and beautiful for a long period of time. To keep this stable you should follow a healthy and active lifestyle.

As liposuction in Orange County doesn’t get rid of all the fat cells from your suctioned area, it means that in case of unhealthy eating habits the remaining fat cells could start growing again.

  • Body Areas Where Liposuction Is Performed

There are some common “problem” parts of the body where people get this procedure, such as:
  1. Double Chin
  2. Bottom of Upper Arms
  3. Back of Neck
  4. Female Breasts
  5. Bra Strap Area
  6. Outer Thighs or Saddlebags
  7. Abdomen or Belly Pooch
  8. Love Handles
  9. Muffin Top
  10. Male Breasts

On the other hand, less common parts include the ankles, upper back and inner thigh. Note that the optimal body area for every individual is unique. This is because each person tends to respond to exercise and diet differently. This is why consultation with an Orange County plastic surgeon or doctor is recommended.

  • You Will Have Bruising and Pain after Liposuction

During liposuction surgery, you will have either undergo regional or general anesthesia. In addition, doctors usually inject a local anesthetic into the area as well. As it will gradually wear off following your surgery, you might feel discomfort and/or mild pain. However, this is normal and you should not worry too much.

In addition, you may have minor bruising in the area. However, these symptoms tend to subside within just a couple of days. Your physician can recommend you temporary medications to help manage the pain.

  • Liposuction Is Also Effective For Men

Contrary to popular belief, liposuction surgery is not just for women. Although a majority of patients are still women, note that more and more men nowadays are also drawn to the procedure. For men, popular areas for liposuction are the chin, waist, “love handles” as well as fatty tissue from the chest area. https://cosmeticareca.blogspot.com/2018/12/top-5-things-you-should-know-about.html

3 Things You Should Know Before a Breast Reduction Surgery

12/30/2018

After giving it some time and weighing all your options, you have decided to get a breast reduction surgery as you think it is right for you. Maybe you are experiencing constant neck and back pain or feeling self-conscious about how big your breasts are. Perhaps you are tired and jaded of not finding any suitable clothes that fit you.

Irrespective of why you are having an Orange County breast reduction, the key thing to remember is that you are taking a huge step to improve your life by letting go of the big bust. And like any other major surgery, going into it without fully knowing and understanding what you are getting into could be intimidating, overwhelming and maybe even frightening.

To prepare for breast augmentation surgery, you might be requested to:

  • Take a blood test
  • Stop smoking
  • Take specific medications or adjust your existing medications
  • Avoid taking recreational drugs, like cocaine
  • Avoid taking certain anti-inflammatory drugs and aspirin as they could increase bleeding

Here are three things that you should know about breast reduction surgery, but probably have not heard.

You May Have To Shed A Few Pounds

In case you are carrying plenty of excess body weight, throughout your body, and not just in the bra, your doctor or plastic surgeon may suggest a couple of weight loss measures before she recommends surgery. Keep in mind that dropping a few pounds can also shrink your breasts size, making the operation unnecessary.

That said this is something you and your physician will discuss prior to the procedure.

Insurance Might Cover the Procedure

Keep in mind that most insurance providers consider plastic surgery “non-essential”. Hence, insurance doesn’t usually cover Orange County plastic surgery procedures. However, breast reduction surgery, is usually an exception to this rule.

Insurance companies recognize that macromastia, the condition of having very large breasts, is a genuine health issue. Hence, they offer coverage for treatment of this condition. In addition, having excessively large breasts could exert considerable strain on a woman’s body. Moreover, it can also cause chronic pain. Huge breasts could also take a serious psychological toll. They can create body image issues while making social situations embarrassing and awkward.

It is because of these reasons that many insurance providers recognize that breast reduction in Orange County could considerably improve the overall quality of life for women who undergo it and therefore, insurance covers it.

Recovery Is Not Rough

Breast reduction surgery is an outpatient procedure. Hence, after your surgery, you will wear a soft cotton bra that has no underwire. Moreover, you can go home the same day. Also, there is no binding or wrapping, and no drains following surgery. Moreover, the best part is that you can even exercise or work out on a limited basis after two weeks. Overall, you can anticipate a complete recovery after just three or four weeks.

So, if you are considering breast reduction surgery, consult your doctor. https://cosmeticareca.blogspot.com/2018/12/3-things-you-should-know-before-breast.html

To prepare for breast augmentation surgery, you might have to:

  • Take a blood test
  • Stop smoking
  • Take specific medications or adjust your existing medications
  • Stop taking various recreational drugs, like cocaine
  • Avoid taking certain anti-inflammatory drugs and aspirin as they could increase bleeding

Two Weeks before Your Orange County Breast Augmentation Surgery:

  • Confirm your pre-operation history as well as physical appointment with the family doctor or internist
  • Vitamins are vital in healing. Start taking multivitamins along with minerals and iron to get in good shape.

  • Make sure you stop all phentermine-type and herbal medications including supplemental Vitamin E

One Week before Your Breast Augmentation Surgery:

  • Continue to take all medication prescribed to you, with the exception of blood thinners (if you are unsure, please consult with your doctor)
